
box[ur]shorts Film Festival announced it will give out cash prizes at its 2011 awards ceremony on January 8th, 2011. Besides the new $18,000 Best Student Film grant, the festival will for the first time give away a total of $1,750 in cash prize money. Short filmmakers are encouraged to send in their shorts to the festival by no later than September 1st, 2010.
Golden box[ur]shorts Award – cash value, $1,000
Silver box[ur]shorts Award – cash value, $500
Bronze box[ur]shorts Award – cash value, $250
Best Student Film Award – grant value, $18,000 (more)
Audience Choice Award
The submission deadlines are as followed:
Students receive a $10 discount of all fees (proof of enrollment required).
Submissions can be made through the official website or Withoutabox.com. The festival looks forward to a variety of quality short films that go on to play in their expanding network. “We get a lot of comedies submitted and many short films originate in the United States; therefore, we encourage international filmmakers to jump on the band wagon and share their work with us.” says festival director Giacun Caduff.
