This year's box[ur]shorts winners were way too stoked, getting their hands on our cash awards, so we decided to do it again! Filmmakers who submit a short film can once again win our grand prize of $1,000, 2nd place $500 or 3rd $250... along with the notorious golden, silver and bronze boxer trophies. Student films will also qualify for a special award that will be announced closer to the Summer.

Films can be submitted until September through the official website or Withoutabox.com. A panel of industry judges that formerly included 007 director Martin Campbell and actor Joel David Moore will review all shorts in competition.

Golden box[ur]shorts Award – cash value, $1,000

Silver box[ur]shorts Award – cash value, $500

Bronze box[ur]shorts Award – cash value, $250

Best Student Film Award – $6,000 in goods and services (more)

Audience Choice Award

The submission deadlines are as followed:

Early-bird deadline: July 1st, 2011 – fee: $30

Regular deadline: August 1st, 2011 – fee: $40

Late deadline: September 1st, 2011 – fee: $50

Students receive a $10 discount of all fees (proof of enrollment required).

It is an innovative approach to watching films that becomes part of viewer's everyday experience -- something one can do while waiting for a table at a restaurant or hanging out at a favorite coffee house. box[ur]shorts™ is presented by A Bale Pictures, Inc. and kicks off its film festival competition with a red carpet awards night in Los Angeles and goes on to screen the movies throughout the year in its movie jukebox network.
