Another sold-out awards night at Quentin Tarantinos New Beverly Cinema! Filmmaker Jen McGowan picked up the Golden undies along with the fest's grand prize of $1,000 for her film Touch. UK director Deborah Haywood’s black comedy SIS came in second, winning $500. Leo Curbelo’s immigrant drama Utopia Lies at the Horizon scored the Bronze trophy and $250 in cash.

Meltdown, a comedy from director David Green, picked up the Golden box[ur]shorts trophy. Nash Edgerton’s Spider came in second and UCLA MFA director Joaquin Baldwin’s animated short Sebastian’s Voodoo took home both the Bronze box[ur]shorts™ trophy as well as the Best Student Film award.

"One Flight Stand" by Saladin Patterson picks up the Showbiz sponsored Golden box[ur]shorts™ trophy during the 3rd Awards Night at the New Beverly Cinema. Congratulations to all the winner that further include FUJIFILM sponsored 2nd place "I'm Gay", the musical co-directed by Michael Bodie and Silas Howard. Blake Snyder's bronze box[u]shorts™ shorts went to Maya Zimmermann for her film "12 x 12". And last but not least... Michael DelVecchio picked up the Audience Award sponsored by Avid for his political short film "July 17th, 1996".

Short films from the UK, Germany and USA pick up the MG Mode-sponsored nobel metal undies at the 2nd box[ur]shorts™ Awards Night that took place at the historic New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles. Festival judges Scott Prendergast, Izumi Hasegawa, Marc Hermann with his Swiss team and last year's Gold winner Kerrie Scher were among the guests who joined the screening and sponsored reception on Friday, January 11th.

The jury, headed by actor Joel David Moore (Dodgeball, Art School Confidential), chose Kerrie Scher's drama "Dreamlike" as the receipient of the Golden box[ur]shorts™ trophy in a ceremony held at Karma Coffeehouse in Hollywood.
