box[ur]shorts™ Film Festival, a yearlong short film exhibition taking place internationally from Los Angeles across the globe to Den Haag, Netherlands announced today it will hold its fifth annual awards night at Quentin Tarantino's New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Doors open at 7:30pm. The festival will show the top-ten shorts in competition and award almost $20,000 to the winning filmmakers. Other highlights include an audience raffle, the presentation of the festival's new digital jukebox and like every year, there will be free drinks and plenty of Swiss chocolate to enjoy.
The festival will kick-off its 2011 competition with a countdown screening of the top 10 short films. Winners will once again leave the theatre equipped with the coveted Golden, Silver and Bronze undie awards that are rumored to work magic: be that on display in the office or, if worn at a Hollywood party...

"With a record number of submissions, the festival keeps growing and we now have a total of 250 quality short films that play at a jukebox near you. This past year we were able to upgrade the box technology and will thus expand the jukebox network, making short films available to an even wider audience," said film festival director and producer Giacun Caduff. Together with programmer Marc Hermann and the festival team, they will present their latest movie jukebox at the awards night.
Filmmakers can look forward to a rewarding evening: This year, box[ur]shorts Film Festival, for the first time, awards cash prizes and an $18'000 Best Student Film Award which was made possible thanks to:
