box[ur]shorts Film Festival, a yearlong short film exhibition taking place internationally at restaurants, bars, coffee houses and laundromats in cities from Los Angeles and New York to Basel, Switzerland and Hiroshima, Japan, today announced its first annual awards night. The night will take place at the Karma Coffeehouse, 1544 N Cahuenga Blvd, in Hollywood on Tuesday, December 19.  Doors open at 6 pm and the event starts at 7 pm.

The first box[ur]shorts™ Film Festival competition has found a competent jury to award the coveted Golden undies to a lucky winner. The panel consists of actor Joel David Moore (Dodgeball, Art School Confidential), cinema professor Dr. Davinia Thornley and up-and-coming filmmaker Rachel Cresswell. There are also two groups of film enthusiasts to evaluate the movies from the audience perspective.

box[ur]shorts™ Film Festival opened its first Japanese location in Hiroshima in 2006. After a successful run for many months the box needed to be upgraded in LA and later was installed at Davanzas pizzeria in Park City for the Sundance Film Festival. It rcurrently remains there. Thus, Hiroshima will get a new box shortly!
